Horror games 18+

“The plot of a video game is like the plot of a porno.”. It should be there, but it’s not important at all.”. I think many people are familiar with these words of a well-known person in the gaming industry, John Carmack.

Of course, for the period of Doom’s dominance, this statement was more than true, but over time, the narrative, the method of presentation, and the themes raised in the games really reached the level of real cinema. Of course, someone could argue that films are now being made that are closer to the first parts of Doom, but this is a debatable issue, and in general we are not talking about that today. But at the same time, if games over several decades have really made a big evolutionary leap in the narrative part, then the “plot in porn” still remains a subject for jokes. Moreover, the creators of porn themselves joked best about this topic when they filmed two parts of “Pirates”. Although, I will say by the way that the plot in porn-Conan is still better than in the 2011 film, but that’s not what we’re talking about now.

However, there is another little-studied topic, at least by the general public, that lies at the intersection of these two phenomena. That is, what about the plot in porn games?? It would seem that games, and even porn, isn’t all the action there, just a lead-in to, so to speak, “action”? Well, isn’t the plot just a flimsy glue between simple gameplay and what everyone takes on, so to speak, for… things like that?? And yes, often, it all comes down to such templates as “I’m a big-breasted elf, and I’m surrounded by vile orcs. What will happen next?" and "I am a super alpha, this is my macho dacha, and I will “romance” all women”. However, everything is not limited to just this, and, no matter how it sounds, there are many games for adults that are interesting to play precisely because of the gameplay and story.

So, hello ladies, gentlemen, comrades and undecided. I’ll make a few disclaimers right away. Firstly, everyone under 18, leave immediately and return only after reaching the required age limit. Secondly, I have not collected here all the games that deserve attention, but only, in accordance with the stated topic, only those that in one way or another try to play horror or thriller. Well, and thirdly, you people are adults, (after all, otherwise, I will again ask those under 18 to leave) everyone has Google and, if you are interested, you can find all today’s games by name, since, for some reason, I will not risk leaving any links here. I hope we have clarified this point? Well, now we can commit crimes.

I think that by the https://galaxyspins.uk/login/ name you could already guess what this game is about. Yes, a mysterious mystical fog, yes, occultism, yes, strange experiments by strange scientists, yes, an unnamed outback, apparently somewhere in provincial America, where there are mountains and pine trees.

And, in general, we can say about almost all aspects of this game that they do not cause a “wow effect”, but are quite at the average level.

That is, what we have? So, “The Fog” is, to a greater extent, a visual novel, like all the other games included in this collection, but with some additional activities. That is, in addition to dialogues, there is, let’s say, also management of the settlement, but very conditional, boiling down to the choice of crop for sowing and very (!) conditional construction. The battles also can’t be said to be that exciting, there is also some element of leveling up and survival, but, to be honest, you don’t experience any difficulties with it either, after all, this is not Zomboyd.

What is really done very well in the game are those very scenes. And so, it seems, I said earlier that we have not gathered here today for the sake of porn, while the very first game I’m talking about is good precisely because of its 18+ content. However, despite the fact that, individually, all of the above components seem to be “so-so”, the main thing is not this, but how it all works together.

And this is where the real magic happens, because all these components, which are quite weak individually, are combined into something integral, only then together does it all really start to work. That is, the main thing in “The Fog” is precisely how segments of different mood and content alternate with each other, a rather relaxed grind and leveling up, giving way to fragments important for the plot, moments with sincere conversations under the stars – combat scenes and intense forays.

And by the way, about the latter. Perhaps the main reason to play Mist is precisely the atmospheric research forays of the main character. In general, the game has a lot of different moments that in one way or another “take” their mood, be it a cozy chat by the fireplace, romantic dates under the starry sky, or a spicy swim together. But, nevertheless, it is the exploration of the world, captured by fog and strange creatures, that is perhaps the basis of the game. As I already said, the plot here is not very original, but in places you can feel a sense of anxiety and tension.

I wouldn’t say that Mist can be considered a full-fledged horror game, rather a work that uses horror themes, but it’s just fun to play. And most importantly, after completing the game it leaves a pleasant aftertaste. Let’s just say that it doesn’t feel like a blockbuster, but like a not-so-famous film that you accidentally stumbled upon on TV or found in the bins of a streaming service, and which unexpectedly made a much better impression than you yourself expected from it.

However, if we talk about blockbusters, if anything among porn games can lay claim to this title, it’s Desert Stalker.

The first thing that will catch your eye when you get acquainted with the game is its rather interesting setting. More precisely, the game greets us with a rather typical post-apocalypse, with the hero driving around in a Mad Max car, raiders and the desert. But pretty soon you realize that everything is not as standard as it might seem.

So, the action takes place around the city, which is one of the last strongholds of civilization, in a world that has experienced some kind of global cataclysm. Moreover, any advanced technologies are prohibited within the city, and its residents are trying to cosplay Ancient Egypt.
